BlackRock and Fidelity Invest $500M in Ethereum Through Coinbase Prime Deals

BlackRock and Fidelity, made a move in the crypto market, purchasing over $500 million worth of ETH.This transaction has pointed out the increasing institutional interest in digital assets, with the transaction facilitated through Coinbase Prime.

Acquisition and Investment

According to a post by Arkham Intelligence on X, the transactions by BlackRock and Fidelity involved the purchase of over half a billion dollars in Ethereum. This recent transaction follows a continued move by BlackRock and Fidelity to expand their presence in the crypto industry. 

Over the past week, a total of 131.741 ETH was purchased by BlackRock, including transactions as large as 10K ETH per transaction. The transactions span multiple days, with values such as 1.495 ETH ($4.28M) and 8.175 ETH ($31.02M). On the other hand,  Fidelity’s FETH ETF saw a total of 108.15 ETH transferred, with transactions ranging from 1.5 ETH to 24 ETH. Notable inflows include 15 ETH ($55.95M), 24 ETH ($89.80M), and 8 ETH ($29.68M).

The investment from BlackRock and Fidelity has recorded engagement with the crypto sector.  The addition of $500 million comes when Ethereum’s network activity continues to surge, advocated by the increasing adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to SoSoValue update, BlackRock’s ETHA ETF recorded a 1-day net inflow of $74.16 million, bringing cumulative inflows to $2.99 billion. Its total net assets reached $3.55 billion with a daily price change of +5.28%.

Fidelity’s FETH ETF recorded a 1-day net inflow of $13.8 million, with cumulative inflows of $530.58 million. Fidelity’s total net assets stand at $1.56 billion, reflecting a daily price change of +5.06%.
