Sony Interactive Entertainment collaborated with Spin Master in 2022, making the latter the company to create toys and collectibles related to big PlayStation game titles. The Shapes Collection is the first project that Spin Master has undertaken since getting this license.
According to the announcement, this opportunity will give gamers a more interactive experience with their favorite games and characters. These figurines are also a way of bringing the digital to life through physical memorabilia. The physical products will be something players can add to their home decor.
The post revealed that the figurines collection will be available on August 15, 2024. Anyone interested can pre-order The Shapes Collection on PlayStation Gear. The collection will also be available on Amazon US and Australia.
Sony’s PlayStation releases the figurines’ details
The Shapes Collection features five characters from the God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and Horizon Forbidden West. The first figurine, Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West, is available for $49.99, has 12 accessories, and 42 points of articulation.
Arno Schmitz, the Guerilla’s lead character artist, explained his experience working with Spin Master on Aloy. Arno mentioned the need to make all the points of articulation sensible. Schmitz said they based the figures on actual digital sculpts from the games.
“A personal highlight was the ability to provide different facial expressions for Aloy, which, together with those many articulation points (even her hair has some!), make her a very poseable figure.”
The other 4 characters are Varl from Horizon Forbidden West, Kratos and Atreus from God of War Ragnarok, and Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima. These characters have 2-4 accessories based on the characters and 24-34 points of articulation. All five figures are 6 inches.
“Jin’s Ghost armor has so many beautiful details, including intricate fabric patterns and overlapping armor plates that are integral to the design of his character.”

PlayStation Stars offers players digital collectibles
Since 2022, PlayStation has been offering its loyal consumers digital collectibles through the PlayStation Stars Loyalty Program. The PlayStation Stars campaigns happen monthly, with the latest release in June 2024.
“PlayStation Stars will be returning soon in phased regional rollouts. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you back.”
However, the program has been off for nearly a month since the PlayStation App went down. A recent message on PlayStation’s PlayStation Stars section said that the app will soon return the digital collectibles.
